Authorized Retailers vs Knock Off's

MissesDressy is an authorized retailer of all the designers listed on our site. We have a one to one working relationship
with all of our designers and order your dress directly from the designer as soon as you order from us. You can find us listed as authorized retailers on the manufacturer's sites, for example at
Jovani, Allure,
Terani etc.
Unfortunately not all dress websites are authorised retailers. Have you been searching for the perfect dress for a long time and
then found your dream dress on another site for much less money? Sadly, as the saying goes, if it seems too good to be true then
it probably is! There are lots of websites out there, often based in Asia, that appear to offer designer dresses at a fraction
of the cost, but in most cases they are actually offering knock-offs of the designer dresses.
If you purchase a knock-off dress from a unauthorized retailer there is no guarantee that your dress will look like the one in the picture.
You will also have little to no recourse if the dress is damaged or not as advertised.
So, when you're spending your money on a dress, make sure it's authentic and from a reputable site.

Safe Shopping Tips

1. Check the designer website. Most will have a "Where to Shop" retailer listing.
For example, you can find MissesDressy listed in the reatiler section of
Jovani, Allure,
Terani etc.
If the website you have been checking is not listed, there may be a problem.
2. Check the contact details on the website. A legitimate retailer will have a phone number, a physical address and an
email listed on their site. Our phone number is on the top bar of every page if you have any questions!
3. Special occasion and Bridal stores generally do not give refunds. If the site is offering "no questions asked" refunds
on all dresses they may not be legitimate.
We do offer exchanges on dresses, but not refunds (excl. special order).
4. Beware if the site you are dealing with requests a high number of your measurements.
Evening wear and Bridal designers base their measurements on 3 or 4 key measurements only.
5. Pay close attention to the photos displayed on the site. If they have a watermark
make sure it is their own. If the photos appear cropped or have the model's heads missing this is also a bad sign.

Remember, your prom, homecoming, sweet sixteen, wedding or formal event is a special occasion and you deserve to have
the genuine dress of your dreams! Do some research on the site where you find that dress. Check the
'Policy Page'
and contact the site before placing an order. If you're worried at all there should be someone at the end of the phone to answer your questions.

Reputable sites will also have outside links and mentions. For example, MissesDressy is listed in Time Out New York as a Top Secret Shop in NYC.
